SCENE : jason wu spring 2012

Pop Art served as the inspiration for Jason Wu’s Spring 2012 collection and it was evident in the all-lips-and-hair look that models sported down the runway. Odile Gilbert and her Kérastase team peppered updos with a mix of black hair ties, bobby pins and fine black feathers. What Gilbert described as “punk with couture elegance” felt like a more organic version of Guido Palau’s hair helmets shown last season at McQueen. Dare I say, a slightly more romantic look for Spring. Uber skin guru, Sunday Riley, was on hand to tend to complexion issues on a case by case basis for each model (read: banish breakouts and redness, make luminous). To add some color, Diane Kendal finished each look with a vibrant Scarlet lip topped with a neon orange pigment. And yes, it seems that the deep red-orange hue of last season is back for another round.
